Capricorn Cats Sign
By Anna Lynn Sibal
Garfield, that fat, lazy and voracious cat created by the celebrated cartoonist Jim Davis, would have made a perfect poster cat for those domestic felines born under the sign of Capricorn (except that Garfield’s birthday is June 17, which makes him a Gemini cat). Just like Garfield, the typical Capricorn cat is always found lying about, whether in her basket, the windowsill, her favorite corner, on a branch of a tree or on her owner’s lap. When she is sleeping, or at least pretending to be asleep, it is hard to bestir her for anything. There is nothing that the Capricorn cat loves more other than sleeping.
A close second, however, is food. The Capricorn cat is usually fat because of her great love affair with food. She will eat nearly anything, but she will adore anyone who gives her a neat and tasty treat. The Capricorn cat cannot be expected to hunt for her food. If ever she does get off her lazy bum to flush out mice or any other prey, she will just play with the poor thing until it dies of exhaustion. Whatever prey that the Capricorn cat catches, she will never eat it.
The Capricorn cat can be very stubborn. If she does not want to get up from her cozy corner, she will not get up by herself for any reason. Her owner will have to physically pick her up to make her move. She will complain very loudly but she will settle down once she finds another corner to snooze in. The Capricorn cat simply hates to be disturbed.
The Capricorn cat also hates being alone. Lazy as she is, if she finds that she is all alone in a room, she will get up and find the people in the house. Once she finds her owner or someone she likes, she will go back to sleeping, and most likely she will be sleeping on that person’s lap. The Capricorn cat loves being petted and cuddled with. She loves attention and when she wants it, she will meow loudly until someone pays attention to her. Self-centered as the Capricorn cat is, however, she will amenable to having other pets in the house and she will doze peacefully in their company as long as they do not disturb her.
Because the Capricorn cat is a sedentary cat who loves her peace and quiet, preferably in her own corner of the house, she hates being disturbed. This year will be pretty unsettling for her, particularly when her owner decides to move to another place, as is most likely to happen this year. The loss of everything familiar to her will affect her so much that rather than being the sleepy, peaceful cat that she usually is, she will act like a walking nervous wreck, meowing loudly in complaint at the smallest things. This constant complaining can get on her owner’s nerves, as well as on the nerves of the other pets. An occasional pat on the head or a cuddle and caress can do a lot to assure her that everything is going to be fine.
